On the last day of school Ms. Raniga had a St. Patrick's Day celebration with our friends from Ms. Padam and Mr. Weber's Class. Green, green everywhere! Happy St.Patrick's Day everyone, and have a wonderful Spring Break!

Genius Hour: We Get to Learn about Whatever We Want!
We have been working hard with our buddies for the past few weeks, but we have been having a lot of fun. We have been learning through what we call, Genius Hour. Genius hour is an opportunity for students to learn about whatever they would like.
For our first Genius Hour project we came up with a topic and some questions related to the topic. Here are our buddies helping us write down our questions.
Next, with the help of the internet our buddies helped us research our questions and create a presentation using the Keynote app on our iPads. Here are some of our presentations

Then with our buddies right beside us, we connected our iPads to the projector and presented our research to the class. Everyone did a great job! Thanks to Ms. Polubinski class for all of your help. We are so lucky to have great buddies who love learning through technology as much as we do.
Gymnastics!
Our school had the gymnastics equipment set up so we were able to run,
jump, roll, and swing! Here are
some videos of us in action.
Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Dr. Seuss is one of our favourite authors in Kindergarten. We had a great time celebrating his birthday!
Valentine's Day
We loved learning about friendship and feelings and eating all the goodies on Valentine's Day. Thanks to all who brought fruit for our special fruit salad!

We Love Skyping!
We have been having so much fun Skyping with our friends just down the road at Bridgeview Elementary and across the country in Toronto, Ontario. As part of our community unit, we have been comparing our neighbourhoods. The students were excited about all the snow that our friends at St. Martin de Porres School have in their playground and that they have a church by their school (they are a Catholic School). We are looking forward to more Skyping sessions with fellow Kindergarten students and experts from around the world!
Klara likes to Skype because it is fun!
Ravija likes to Skype because he liked seeing the church.
Jakob likes to Skype because he gets to ask questions.
Samuel likes to Skype because he can Skype.
